What to do with Friendly Neighborhood Carnage
One of the most psychopathic characters in the Marvel Universe has turned over a new leaf. Your Friendly Neighborhood Carnage is here and, rather than killing, he's here to give his Spider-related friends a boost. Here is everything I want to try with this helpful new card.
Just How Friendly Is He?
With any new synergy piece for an archetype, you must ask yourself this question. Is this card powerful enough to see generic usage, or does it need to be played with synergy payoffs. Cards that must be played in precise synergy packages are often strong, but cards that can enable specific archetypes, but are strong enough to see play outside that archetype are typically the most powerful cards in the game – and often the recipients of eventual balance changes. Cards like Araña, Fan Fei and Heimdall have rarely been able to fight their way into non-Move decks as flexible fake-outs, but Carnage might be the first Move enabler that is able to do just that. This card is exceptional. And not just together with Spider-people.
Move Payoffs
Carnage is an excellent way to proc multiple move payoffs at once. This is a relatively rare and incredibly valuable ability – especially on a 3-Cost! Here's what we are looking to move.

There are plenty of cards that can combo with or enhance FN Carnage other than strict Move payoffs. Here are some cards that could see upticks in play thanks to this powerful new card.
Scosco's Day One Friendly Neighborhood Carnage Decks
Triple Move
Sparky, Hercules, and Doctor Strange allows us to spread our movers around the board in a way that is unpredictable to our opponents, but is predictable to us. Remember, Carnage will move the cards in the order they are placed in a location, so you'll always know which card is going to fly into Hercules or be the target for Sparky.
Force Multiplier
This deck doesn't pack any of the typical protection like Cosmo and Juggernaut, so beware opposing tech. Carnage makes for a pretty fun Fastball Special target in a pinch!
Big Moves Only
This deck aims to pack all of its moves into a couple big turns. I'm particularly excited by the idea of using Grandmaster to chain some cards from left to right before finishing with a Heimdall.
Hokey Doke Thing
Unexpected Star-Hawk and Thing First Steps points are just two of the fun play lines in this Thanos FF deck.
The Thanos Problem
Batroc was once the core of one of the more dominant strategies in the game. For months, this cheeky little leaper terrorized top MMR. What changed? Thanos Fractured Frontier, and in particular the orange Soul Shot have made relying on low-Cost scalers, or even leaving important cards alone, a very precarious strategy. There is a strong chance that FN Carnage has some trouble fully breaking through while Thanos is ruling the meta, but I expect him to soar to new heights once the Fractured Frontier menace is inevitably nerfed. Vulture just got buffed, but he feels really fragile at the moment. Carnage will be strong now, but I expect him to have a meta impact in the months to come as well. In fact, this card is strong enough that I wouldn't be surprised if he eats his own nerf at some point.
Is He Worth It?
This card is clearly strong as a Move enabler. The On Reveal text allows it to be surprising enough that there is solid cube equity baked in. There is also a change this card is strong enough to see play outside of strict Move decks. If so, this is a must buy. Otherwise, it's the new darling of Move mains and Move dabblers alike. If you abhor the archetype, wait till the end of the week to see how his generic use feels.
