Mordred: Decks & Tips for the New Card
Play a little Sanctum Showdown and earn the new card Mordred! He is the latest in what is quickly becoming a feature of every season – a big 3-Cost stat stick! Here is everything I'm excited to try with the free LTGM card!
How Exactly Does He Work?
Modred has more Power not just from your own High-Cost cards, but your opponents as well. Essentially, he renders meaningless 2 Power of any big cards your opponent plays into his lane. For Comparison's sake, USAgent shaves 3 Power off your Opponent's big cards. Of course, you can boost Mordred yourself, though!
Mordred is an interesting card that gives you certain incentives, while making your opponent think twice about how their own board is organized. He's a little quirky in that he could feel like a solo threat at times, but also wants company.
Get More Big Cards Out
The obvious synergy hook with Mordred is to get a bunch of extra 4+ Cost cards out onto your side of Modred's lane. Every extra Doombot you place with him means an extra 2 Power!
Other Fun Synergies
Mordred is very promising as a simple stat stick in a Doom or APM deck, but I do think he gives us some reason to play a few interesting cards that are not currently seeing much play. Doombots are the obvious hook, but these are the fun ones!

More Dread
Mordred can threaten a lot of Power in one lane before you even get rolling and makes a great target for Thanos' red reality shot or lane marker to play your APM. Captain Marvel provides some fun complexity for your opponent to solve.
Dreaded Doom
Mordred can provide a ton of extra value in a lane you're otherwise not even playing into. CGR is here as a Stardust counter-measure.
Is He Worth It?
It depends on your opinion of Sanctum Showdown, but I do think it's worth going to the effort to get this card. We've had must-own free LTGM cards and we've had forgettable ones. Mordred isn't quite an absolute obligatory acquisition, but he's a good card with a variety of hooks that you're going to want access to.
Once there is enough data, head over to SnapComplete to find where Mordred is performing best. As always, special thanks to SnapComplete for our blue-bordered card and deck art.

Below the paywall, you'll find fistful of additional Mordred decks. This is a card that looked pretty bland on my glance, but he has some pretty fun, less obvious synergy hooks and the decks below showcase those.
