Burning Questions 3/6/26

Hello and welcome to the first installment of Burning Questions at Fourth Location! For those who are new to this article series, every Friday I'll run through the hottest topics in Marvel Snap! This week we're talking about two new cards, one that may be too strong and one that may be too weak. Let's go!

1) Is Isca overtuned?

Isca the Unbeaten has made quite a splash. She can grow to unreasonable size and can win otherwise unwinnable lanes. She's clearly very powerful, but is she too powerful? I'm not so sure she is.

First, she is very susceptible to Cosmic Ghost Rider and other tech. She's also dependent on other cards. Isca is quite good on her own, but the really frightening Iscas tend to be the ones enhanced by Invisible Woman and/or Jocasta.

She's the kind of card it will take the play base time to adjust to. She's basically a new mechanic in the game and there are intricacies to playing with and around her that will smooth out over time. Playing her in a place where she can end up with a tie is one such intricacy. That she goes off at the end of the game makes her tricky to play around, but the player base will improve at this to a degree.

All of that being said, I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect a nerf to 4/2 at some point in the future. My main issue with this nerf is that it makes here almost exclusively an End of Turn synergy card, whereas she has some “good card” utility right now. The main reason I think she may get nerfed in the future is that she's a 4-Cost lane winner. There aren't very many of those in Snap and the ones that come around often get nerfed or shifted to 5-Cost.

To summarize, I don't think Isca is way out of bounds, but I wouldn't be surprised if she eats an eventual nerf to either 4/2 or 5/4 or something along those lines.

2) What's the best way to use En Sabah Nur?

The new Season Pass card has landed a bit flat. The swap out just doesn't feel especially strong, mostly because it doesn't guarantee you'll be upgrading that card (that's one way he could be buffed). But what is the best way to use him if you're really interested in getting the most out of the season pass card?

Thanos has definitely felt the most promising, while ESN can help Zoo be a little more greedy. However, there are two places that I think En Sabah Nur is still underexplored – Ultron and as a de-clogger.

Whether it's Thanos, Zoo, or something more outside-the-box, I think the most powerful use of ESN is to swap out the Hood (does PulseGlazer agree?! Read to the end!).

3) What card has the best base art?

This season has some of the best base card art in a while! Lockheed and Dragon of the Moon were pretty good just recently. Is the base art getting better in Snap?

I think Lady Deathstrike has my favorite base art, courtesy Eric Guerrero.

Come back next Friday, and every Friday for more Burning Questions!
