Deadpool's Diner: Optimization and Gameplay Guide

From October 27-November 3, Deadpool's Diner is back. But is it better than ever? We’ll walk you through what to expect from the changes, the silliness, and how to get the most out of the mode!

The Basics

Each table has a minimum bet that can be increased by snapping up to three times. Snapping increases your stake, but only for you. The major difference between this mode and ladder is that the snapping is asymmetrical. Your opponent’s Snaps don’t affect how much you win or lose, only your own Snaps do. In this way you win and lose “Bubs” which allow you to sit down at higher tables and progress along the rewards track, where you’ll find Vampire America Chavez (on the free track) and a cool variant for her (on the premium track).

Additionally, you have a separate set of missions: Snap to earn nachos. Each time you Snap 3 times at the same table and win, you’ll earn a pile of Nachos (the amount depends on the table). Nachos are the shop currency and there’s plenty of cool stuff available in the shop.

What’s Changed?

Last time was a vastly simplified version of the Diner with only four tables and the introduction of the asymmetrical snapping system. There are two more tables being added this time to bring us up to six, with the introduction of Candy Cauldron and D-Maxx. Alongside changes to the rewards system and shop, bub refills, and other minor tweaks, the big change is that Snaps will only award Nachos when you win, instead of losses or ties as well. This is a big change to how easy it is to farm Nachos (the shop currency), but it doesn’t change the optimization advice much.

Table Minimum Bubs to Sit Base Stake After 1 Snap After 2 Snaps After 3 Snaps Nachos per Plate Mission
Rock 500 150 300 600 1,200 10
Can of Worms 2,900 300 600 1,200 2,400 25
Cake Pops 8,500 1,000 2,000 4,000 8,000 50
Chips n Guac 24,500 3,000 6,000 12,000 24,000 75
Candy Cauldron (NEW) 55,000 7,500 15,000 30,000 60,000 100
D-Maxx (NEW) 180,000 15,000 30,000 60,000 120,000 150

How to Optimize

Get to the Top ASAP

You don’t want to run out of Bubs since that will prevent you from playing, but you also want to climb to the top tables as soon as possible to start farming Nachos. More Nachos mean more stuff!

If you’re a little uncomfortable with wagering and the scaling going on, one conservative method is to only move up to a higher table when you have 3x the maximum wager after three Snaps. So move to Can of worms when you hit 7,200 Bubs, Cake Pops at 24,000 Bubs and so on. This will allow you to build up your bubs even without a sky-high win rate. For most players, though, the best advice will be to go on vibes. For example, get a lot riskier if you’re close to ending your play session when it matters a lot less if you lose a bunch of Bubs.

Triple Snap as Often as Possible

Sure, if you’re pretty sure you’re not going to win, don’t just Snap blindly, but the best way to get the most out of the Nacho shop is to Snap early and often. This is especially true once you've built up a stockpile of Bubs and are playing at the higher tables. People will retreat if they’re obviously going to lose, so you want to give yourself the best chance to get those Snaps in before that happens. Remember, Nachos are how you buy things!

My personal method last time was to get two Snaps in within the first three turns in all but the most dire situations, and then save a Snap for later to play with the goofy locations that interact with the Snap mechanic (or just before I suspect a retreat coming on).

The Goofy Locations

We don’t know exactly which of these they’ll turn on in any given run of the Diner, but expect some amount of these silly locations. They were the absolute highlight of the run for me last time and they make the mode feel like more than just a ladder reskin with a different ranking system.

Final Thoughts

As long as you don’t put yourself in a bad position by getting too greedy and running out of Bubs early, and you can find a solid deck and get comfortable with Snapping very aggressively, Diner can be a pretty relaxing reward-farming experience. Even if the rewards aren’t quite as generous as last time, there’s still a lot of free stuff to buy with all those Nachos and you don’t have to stress about a falling rank!

Below the paywall, paid subscribers will find five decks that are ideal for the ultra-aggressive Snapping this mode rewards. Special thanks to SnapComplete for art featured in this article. Once enough data comes in, you'll be able to find the best-performing Diner decks over there.
