Vampire Deacon Frost: Decks for Weekend Missions
Deacon Frost weekend missions to keep you Frosty.
Here are a variety of decks you can quickly grab to clear this week's Weekend Missions!
Season Pass: Vampire Killmonger
Skill Matter
Heaps of Skills are great for building up Nicholas Scratch and your Horde (via Zombie Witch). Killmonger already has good scaling, but Joaquin and Venus take it to the next level. Cosmo helps you protect your investments as Shadow King’s stocks are super high right now. The nerf to the Queen of Chaos is minimal and you'll still find her in a lot of the decks today.
Shou-Wolf
Yellowjacket has long been one of my favorite cards in the game, so it’s heartwarming to see people running him lately! He synergizes with both Werewolf and Shou-Lao – and that second one is important. Try to save Yellowjacket for a turn where you need him in order to play two cards in one turn.
I have opposite advice for Prowler – while it’s nice to get his discounted Skills, go ahead and play him earlier if you haven’t drawn Werewolf yet.
If you don’t have Superior Iron Man, sub in Sasquatch.
Hit-Monkey
This was running Black Swan before, but Queen of Chaos is probably still better, despite the nerf. Still, if you're looking for an excuse to play something new, you could sub her back in. The lack of Black Swan reduces the tension between having a big Turn 5 (for a cheap Sasquatch) or a big Turn 6 (for a big Monkey). You should be able to play a bunch of cards both turns, growing your Werewolf along the way. This is, of course, sensitive to Shadow King, so you’ll often want to attack all three lanes.
Series 5: Vampire Deacon Frost
Costs Matter
Loyal readers know I'm all in on Mobius/Kluh scam. Longtime readers know I am happy to rely on a Juggernaut crutch. This deck features Vampire Deacon Frost prominently, but it also might quietly be the deck best positioned to take advantage of the post-OTA metagame.
Both Cards!
Hey, the weekend mission cards actually go together perfectly for once!
Freaky Deac
Similar to the deck above, this one adds Vampire Killmonger for more heft and Sam Wilson for more potential Cost-coverage.
Moldy Monsters
The revitalization of Ronan has been one of the fun side-effects of Deacon Frosts introduction to the game. Master Mold plus Dragon of the Moon is such a mean combo.
Beast Mode
Can we sneak in a cheeky bounce? Beast can allow us to tempo out Silver Sable and still get value on Joaquin with her later in the game, among other cute plays. Discounts are key here as Wingbeat to get out an early Turn 4 Thanos can mean an explosive Beast turn to set up a flashy finale.
