Zombie Black Cat: Decks for Weekend Missions

Here are a variety of decks you can quickly grab to clear this week's Weekend Missions!

Season Pass: Vampire Killmonger

Heaps of Skills are great for building up Nicholas Scratch and your Horde (via Zombie Witch). Killmonger already has good scaling, but Joaquin and Venus take it to the next level. Cosmo helps you protect your investments as Shadow King’s stocks are super high right now.

Shou-Wolf

Yellowjacket has long been one of my favorite cards in the game, so it’s heartwarming to see people running him lately! He synergizes with both Werewolf and Shou-Lao – and that second one is important. Try to save Yellowjacket for a turn where you need him in order to play two cards in one turn.

I have opposite advice for Prowler – while it’s nice to get his discounted Skills, go ahead and play him earlier if you haven’t drawn Werewolf yet.

If you don’t have Superior Iron Man, sub in Sasquatch.

Hit-Monkey

This was running Black Swan before – it still could, but Queen of Chaos is probably better. The lack of Black Swan reduces the tension between having a big Turn 5 (for a cheap Sasquatch) or a big Turn 6 (for a big Monkey). You should be able to play a bunch of cards both turns, growing your Werewolf along the way. This is, of course, sensitive to Shadow King, so you’ll often want to attack all three lanes.

Series 5: Zombie Black Cat

Swarm

While this is largely all-in on Swarm, Khonshu is a decent backup plan. Cards like Corvus and M.O.D.O.K. pick all of their targets at once – so discarding Zombie Black Cat with one of them can result in a double discard for cards that return themselves to hand (yes for Scorn and Khonshu, no for Swarm).

Speaking of double hits! All four When Discarded cards not named Zombie Black Cat return to your hand, increasing the odds that a Corvus or M.O.D.O.K. leads to a double payoff. Instant full-moon Khonshu? +8 Apoc? -4 Cost Weapon H? Those all seem pretty good!

Both Cards!

Killmonger doesn’t have very strong synergies with Zombie Black Cat, but he’s the more flexible card – so, these decks are gonna throw him into Discard. There’s exactly one synergy between them here – Killmonger joins several of the Discard cards in feeding The Collector.

The Moon Girl/M.O.D.O.K. combo is really cool, but it was hit quite hard by Blink’s recent rework that allows her to swap a card for one of the same cost (instead of a guaranteed upgrade). In this case, Zombie Black Cat is a solid Proxima swap as she does largely the same thing, while increasing the chance that Blink upgrades Moon Girl into M.O.D.O.K. With Scorn in hand, ZBC contributes the same Power as Proxima (or even more if Miek/Morbius are on-board).

If you haven’t seen it before, the main goal is to play M.O.D.O.K. or Blink on Turn 5, behind Invisible Woman or Supergiant. Play Moon Girl as your last card on Turn 6 to double all your good When Discarded hits, and then have M.O.D.O.K. wipe them out.
