What to do with Stryfe
Stryfe is a man with many enemies. He hates the parents (Cyclops, Jean Grey) of the man he was cloned from (Cable), and he hates the man who raised him (Apocalypse). The Marvel Snap card is strong enough to make enemies of everyone. Will you be up for battling Stryfe or are you planning to use him? Here is everything I’m excited to do with Stryfe.

What Makes Him Good

We’ve had a lot of cards that can copy the On Reveal of another card before, but Stryfe’s targeting sets him apart. Whereas Astral Projection can hit any On Reveal, Stryfe targets highest Cost. With Fin Fang Foom in the game, there’s at least one slam-dunk use for Stryfe. But FFF isn’t the only great target. There are plenty of great 6-Cost cards to target from Odin to Arnim Zola. The hurdle is to play 3 On Reveal Cards (from your hand!), but that will be easy for any deck with Stryfe in it.
Great 6-Cost Hits

5-Cost Hits that are Worth the Effort
I think you’re generally going to want to aim for 6+ Cost cards, but there are some 5s that, when repeated multiple times, can feel especially powerful. Also, I do want to note that there may be uses for Stryfe lower down the curve like with Bastion in a Victoria Hand deck or Prodigy in and End of Turn deck.

Scott's Day One Stryfe Decks
Odin Wong
One of the main things Stryfe allows is to build On Reveal heavy decks with greedier curves. We do need to get down our 3 On Reveals, but that won't be an issue in a deck like this. A free Odin as the end of the game is awfully powerful in a deck with a lot of On Reveals.
Aurora
It's unfortunate that Aurora doesn't buff Objective cards, but that won't sting as much if Stryfe is the source of Aurora's On Reveal for free.
Foom Zola
Fin Fang Foom is the first and best synergy for Stryfe, but Star-Lord MotS and Zola aren't far behind.
Black Bolt Stature
I think one of the aspects of Stryfe I am most looking forward to is the way he can multiply On Reveals that are much more devastating when repeated. A second Cannonball is an ideal use since Mercury can move giving you a kill in two different lanes on subsequent turns. Two Black Bolts can quickly derail an opposing gameplan.
Hammers
Zola and Odin are the top end targets for Stryfe, but don't sleep on the value of getting Jane's effect while being able to use your Energy on something else (like a late-drawn Beta Ray Bill).
Is He Worth It?
I’ve talked many times in the past about how my estimation of a card can change when I’m actually in the builder, making decks and going through potential play lines. I was already high on Stryfe and now I’m even higher. This will be a meta force and the signature card of the season.
For our supporters, I've put 4 more Stryfe decks below the paywall line, including decks with Galactus and Thanos! If you are psyched for Stryfe and love what we do at Fourth Location, consider subscribing today!
