What to do with Lin Lie
Everything I'm Excited to Try with Lin Lie
This week's new Series 5 card is a little more complex, a little more cerebral, a little more quirky. I think Lin Lie is going to appeal to certain types of players more and is destined to become a new “pet card” for some of those players. Here's everything I'm excited to try.
The Hoop Through Which You Must Jump
Lin Lie asks you to complete a little chore before he gives you any real value. You have to work for him. There are quite a few ways to achieve this, but here are my favorite enablers.

Ghost Spider + Lin Lie = 3/14
Just playing these two together is a nice little value package. If just tossing the two alone into a deck feels strong, Lin Lie will be a must-buy.
MinimaLin

Web Sling has extra synergy with Lin Lie in that you can decide if you'd rather move the sword or the man, allowing for more board optimization than Ghost-Spider.

Lin Z

Hellion is an underrated card that might see more play with the introduction of Lin Lie. He is currently seeing play in the one obvious home Lin Lie has.
The Obvious Home
Top ladder player Iris has been playing a deck for a while that Lin Lie can slot right into. The question is about what to take out. I won't speak for Iris, who has hundreds of hours more reps with the deck than I do, but I opted to make the deck a little more Power oriented to lean into the advantage Lin Lie brings, though we might miss Deafening Chord in some games.

Fragile to Tech

Lin Lie, even more than most cards, is quite fragile to disruption by our opponent, and I don't just mean Enchantress. I think Lin Lie is the exact type of card that will do better after its initial release week.
Lin Lie is both interesting from a power-level perspective and as a deck-building and gameplay puzzle. The nature of the card makes it far harder to evaluate than the typical card, but my instinct tells me those points and cross-synergies are solid enough to see play. I'm worried about tech fragility, but those worries could evaporate with a meta shift.
