What do to With Kluh

When Bruce Banner gets angry, the Hulk comes out. When the Hulk gets really angry, he becomes Kluh. How are we pronouncing this guy's name? Does it rhyme with clue? Or bruh? There is a title in the game that implies that. The dev video wasn't any help, as they pronounced it kind of like the ‘ow’ in clown. If we truly think of it as ‘Hulk’ backwards it should be more like the vowel sound in lull, which is distinct from any above. Here's everything I'm excited to try with Clue Kluh!

The Mobius Tipping Point

Mobius M. Mobius is good into the current meta, which is full of decks that rely on discounts. However, it's hard to justify him in a tech role as a 3/3. It's a really tough stat line and can hold a deck back in matchups he's irrelevant in. It's much easier to justify cards like Luke Cage and Stardust with better stat lines or Cosmo who has wider utility. The best way to make a tech card feel worth it is if it has some positive benefit for you, even in games where it doesn't hurt your opponent too much. Think cards like Red Guardian in an Affliction deck, Cosmo with Aurora, or Stardust with Sentry. They have offensive synergy in addition to their effect on the opponent. Mobius didn't have enough friends like this… until now?

Kluh joins Pixie and Hydro-Man as MMM friends. The Pixie/MMM pairing has enjoyed plenty of success in the past, but Hydro-Man/MMM wasn't quite doing enough to see much play. But Kluh makes a perfect third leg for the table! He also works very well with just his best bud, Hydro-Man. Here's why:

Shared Synergy

Surtur and Skaar both demand 10-Cost cards, and Hydro-Man and Kluh both fit that bill. Skaar decks are the clear first home for Kluh.

Shared Targets

Any deck needs redundancy built into its game plan. The fact that a lot of the same cards could be hit with a Turn 5 Hydro-Man or a Turn 5 Kluh and still lead to powerful final turns means they can coexist in the same deck quite happily.

5+1=6

Part of why Hydro-Man works so perfectly with Kluh for simple mathematical reasons. The strategy of a Kluh deck will revolve around playing him on Turn 5, but there will be games you don't want to play him for his ability. A vanilla 5/10 isn't good, but when Hydro-Man on Turn 5 can guarantee a 1-Cost card to play out alongside him, he's a lot better! Think things like playing a Kluh in one lane and a Fin Fang Foom in the other. Or a Doctor Doom to spread Power and 5/10 Kluh to solidify one position. The more 5-Cost cards you can play with Hydro-Man, the more reliable your final turns will be.

Non-Mobius Synergies

Of course, you could play Kluh without Mobius. You'll just want to make sure you have a much wider variety of Costs than your opponent!

Generating a 0-Cost token is an excellent way to get an extra discount out of your Kluh! There are a variety of ways to add 1-Costs to the board, though getting a sinle 1-Cost on board isn't really a struggle. Otherwise, just making a deck that plays a single card each turn on curve will ensure you get a decent set of discounts. Finally, Magik could be one way to use Kluh for some high-flying combos!

This is a deck with multiple game routes to victory. Before you cut Wasp from this deck, consider her multiple roles in different games. She allows us to swap her 0-Cost onto a bigger card, provides an additional cost for Kluh, or provides fodder for Nico to draw your way out of a dead hand.

Don't Make Me Angry

Juggernaut plus Superior and Rogue is a heck of a final turn.

Whether it's via Pixie or Kluh on Wong you're going to try to play Aurora out on the last turn alonside some other cards! This deck could definitely accommodate Thanos FF, but I figured you've seen enough Thanos FF decks these days.

Is He Worth It?

The majority of why I'm high on Kluh is his interaction with Mobius. Unfortunately, Kluh is also hard-countered by Mobius. This means that if there's ever a meta-dominant Kluh build, you'll start encountering a lot of Mobius both in mirror matches and as tech against you. Reasonably strong card with clear 1-card counters don't tend to do well in their first week. Don't panic! I am confident a deck with Kluh will be strong at some point. It's a good card that has a clear home that he improves noticeably.

Paid Subscribers will find more of those Mobius-less concepts for Kluh below! There are some super fun things you can do with this card!
