The Lab – Axis: Inversion

Most card interactions are predictable, but there are always surprises. In The Lab, I'll try to collect all the interactions that aren't so straightforward. Be sure to check in throughout the season to see what else has been discovered!

Superior Iron Man

• His ability will double Ongoing Cost reductions and Power increases
• His ability does not double any Cost increases or Power decreases
• As a Power-dependent Ongoing card, he shares a timing window with cards like Cerebro and Captain Carter
  • Cards in this window resolve left to right
• His Cost reduction happens after ALL other Cost modifiers
  • Includes Wave (who was previously the final Cost modifier window)
  • After being reduced by Ongoing discount (e.g,. Quinjet, Sera), his own ability can reduce his Cost to zero
• If his Cost is increased before being decreased, it will double the discount accordingly (this might only be relevant for discounts that set the cost, like Wave’s and Pixie’s)
  • e.g., after Iceman > Wave, he costs 2 (5 +1 =4 -2)

• Currently, there is a bug that prevents him from being moved by Moveable effects (such as Madame Web and New York City)

Anti-Polar Magneto

• The second pull cannot target a card created by the first pull
• If the first pull is Stardust, the second pull will be skipped

Newest

• He always places cards in left-to-right order
• The second pull can revive/resurrect a card destroyed/discarded by the first pull

Red Onslaught

• You cannot see the random abilities before he is on the board
• Any copies created after he is on the board will have the same 3 abilities
• Cards that copy his text will roll their own 3 random abilities
• Onslaught and Super Skrull only see his 3 random abilities, not his own ability

Newest

• When bounced, you cannot see his 3 random abilities in hand, but they will be the same 3 if you play him again
