Team Clash Strategy Guide | July '26
Everything you Need to Know to Succeed in Team Clash
Marvel Snap’s most complicated game mode is back from July 6-13. We’re here to give you all of the information and theory you need to hit the ground running and earn the powerful new Tombstone card as smoothly as possible! Plus, we finally have an emote for those 2-Cube games!

What's Changed
There are no new factions this time around. Unfortunately, Lady Bullseye doesn't appear to have been added, so expect that to be the main strategy you face. Will we see a mid-mode balance pass?
Update: According to the dataminers at SnapComplete, Quicksand and Mother Askani are on the banlist!

The Tyrant

There may be additional balance changes to the 6 cards that are seeded into each deck, but we won't find those out until the game mode launches. Check back here on launch for more info about balance changes and their implications. According to SnapComplete, Anti-Venom has been reworked and Mary Jane and Spider-Man: Brand New day have been added to the Spider-Verse pre-con (great news for completing weekend missions! As always, datamines are unconfirmed and extremely subject to change.

We have gotten some new cards since the last run. Here's what is new and which extended rosters I expect them to be on, if any:
Cards released since last Team Clash:
- Jeff Baby Dolphin (Avengers)
- Venus
- Monstro
- Jubilee Silver Surfer (X-Men)
- Quicksand (banned)
- Sub-Mariner (Brotherhood)
- Triton (Guardians)
- Namorita
- Spider-Man Brand New Day (Spider-Verse)
- Mary Jane (Spider-Verse)
- Aunt May (Spider-Verse)
- Tombstone (Spider-Verse)
- Tarantula (Spider-Verse)
Spider-Verse could be in for a much-needed boost!
Refresher Course
Team Clash is a mode where you choose one of 6 teams, each with its own unique mechanic. You can stick with the pre-constructed decks, or you can build your own decks. You must include all 6 of the pre-designated characters for each team, but you can fill the remaining 6 slots with any cards, including the characters on that team's larger extended roster or not. Other than each team's unique mechanic and the new abilities on the special characters, the mode is like normal Marvel Snap — the winner of two lanes after 6 turns (Magik is legal, though) wins the game. However, there are no cubes or snapping in this mode, just wins and losses. Wins net you 10 XP and 10 Emblems, losses still get you 5 of each. Winning also gets your ticket back, just like in Sanctum Showdown, and tickets again have a soft cap of 9.
Keys to Success
- Missions are often focused on playing and winning with different teams, so you'll need to be prepared to play with each team rather than just jamming with your favorite one.
- For maximum win rate, you'll need to modify the pre-cons. One or two of the pre-cons will inevitably float to the top, but, especially after the first few hours, pre-cons are going to fall behind.
- There are A LOT of cards. It's almost like learning an entirely new version of Marvel Snap. The initial mental load in the mode is high. Prepare ahead of time if you're going full try-hard mode.
- If you're free-to-play, you'll need to prioritize missions, be comfortable with all of the teams, and have solid lists for each team.
Note: The full extended rosters and banlist are at the end of the article. Team Clash deck-building works differently, so unfortunately there are no copyable codes, but I've organized recommendations into what to swap out of the pre-cons and what to swap in in their place.
The Teams
Below you'll find each of the teams, their unique ability, the 6 seeded cards, keys to playing that team, and upgrade suggestions!
Avengers: Go Tall in Two Lanes, React with Tech
Avengers: After you play an Avenger, give one of your Avengers there +1 Power.

What to Know about the Avengers
The Avengers are the team has the pre-con in need of the fewest changes. You can play Avengers right out of the box, or you can just swap out one or two cards you're not vibing with for powerful Avengers like Jeff, Shang, Zombies, or a format-relevant tech card like Mobius or Luke Cage.
The Pre-Con:
- Hawkeye, Doctor Strange, Thor, Captain America, Vision, Hulk
- America Chavez, Quake, Sam Wilson, Ironheart, Captain Carter, Iron Man

Deck Upgrades
The goal is simple: make one giant Captain Carter lane and one giant Hulk lane. You can choose how you want to try to leverage Doctor Strange, if at all.
Still Fully Assembled
| Out: | In: |
|---|---|
| Quake | Jeff the Baby Dolphin?! |
| Ironheart | Luke Cage |
This is just Avengers built to beat X-Men and Spider-Verse decks. Mobius is a consideration.
Zombie Avengerz
| Out: | In: |
|---|---|
| America Chavez | The Hunger |
| Quake | Venus |
| Ironheart | Zombie Scarlet Witch |
| Iron Man | Zombie Giant Man |
Let's play some Zombies!
Spider-Verse: Get Extra Energy, Scale out of Control
Spider-Verse: You get +2 Energy if one of your Spider-Verse cards moved last turn.

Note about Changes:
According to SnapComplete dataminers, there have been several changes to the Spider-Verse team.
First, Anti-Venom has been changed. He was one of the worst cards in the mode before being reworked, and I guess he still wasn't performing in a fulfilling way.
- [Old] 4/4 - On Reveal: If any card moved last turn, set the Cost of your top card to 0.
- [New] 3/5 - On Reveal: Give the top card of your deck +1 Power. Repeat this when one of your Spider-Verse cards moves.
Second, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Mary Jane have been swapped in and Kraven and Peni-Parker are out.
What to Know about the Spider-Verse
Spider-Verse has one of the worst pre-cons, but several custom decks did perfectly well last run. Getting so many new cards for the extended roster might boost this team from one of the pack to top contender! Appropriate given the seasonal theme!
The Pre-Con:
- Agony, Ghost-Spider, Anti-Venom, Scarlet Spider, Symbiote Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099
- Spider-Man: BND, Silk, Mary Jane, Spider-Punk, Prowler, Man-Spider

Deck Upgrades
You have to make a choice of which scalers you're going to prioritize. Do you want to go for a big Man-Spider? A bunch of strong smaller scalers?
Scaler Focus
| Out: | In: |
|---|---|
| Spider-Man: BND | Kraven |
| Man-Spider | Hydra Stomper |
Look, if they really took Kraven out, I'm putting him back in.
Spider Focus
| Out: | In: |
|---|---|
| Spider-Man: BND | Peni Parker |
| Spider-Punk | Absorbing Man |
| Mary Jane | Taskmaster |
And I'm taking out the new cards to make a Man-Spider Deck
Jane New Day
| Out: | In: |
|---|---|
| Spider-Punk | Venus |
| Man-Spider | Heimdall |
X-Men: So... Much... Energy!
X-Men: You get +1 Energy for each location where you have 3 or more X-Men.

What to Know about the X-Men
The X-Men ran wild last time with the highest play and win rates, by a healthy margin. This was all thanks to Lady Bullseye. Before Lady B, the X-Men were seen abusing Fin Fang Foom in the previous run. The X-Men just seem primed to abuse what's abusable in this mode and a bunch of extra Energy is the key to it all.
The Pre-Con:
- Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jubilee, Professor X
- Sunspot, Surge, Hope Summers, Prodigy, Isca, Sasquatch
