Tips & Tricks

There is so much shared structure among Marvel Snap's events. I found there were a bunch of important tips I was sharing on repeat, so I decided to compile them into a single article! If you haven't checked it out before (or if you need a refresher), I recommend checking it out. You can focus on the tips relevant to this event by reading any section with the Team Clash logo!

Event Economy: Tips & Tricks
Here is a collection of information, tips, and tricks that apply to the various events of Marvel Snap. 💡Tips will be called out like this to make this page easy to skim. Tickets It costs one Ticket to start a game in these modes (Sanctum Showdown Tickets are called “Scrolls”

Grand Prizes

The Free Pass contains the new Skill, Sandstorm! It’ll enter Series 4 in a month. I’m excited for this one! It should be great in both the Victoria Hand and Rocks archetypes (Rocks getting further support in a week-and-a-half in the form of Ozymandias)

The Premium Pass contains this exclusive Sandstorm Variant by Dardo Studios. Let’s not let the similarity of the studio’s name to Darude go unnoticed.

Tickets

The Tickets section of our event economy guide has some important tips about how Tickets work. It’ll also explain all the following terms, if you need.

Starting Tickets: 6
Regenerating Tickets: 4 every 8 hours
Tickets Soft Cap: 9 (you cannot regenerate beyond this)
Tickets Hard Cap: 99 (you cannot have more than this)
Free Pass Tickets: 20
Premium Pass Tickets: 27
Total Free Tickets: 106
Total Premium Tickets: 133
Single Ticket Cost: 10 Gold
Ticket Bundle Cost: 7 for 50 Gold

While this run offers fewer total Tickets than the first Team Clash, it's not a problem at all. The Passes are much shorter. The event itself is shorter, too (seven days vs. ten). This new run actually gives you more Tickets per day.

Missions

Team Clash is unique in using both Tickets and Missions to bottleneck your event currency (Emblems) and XP. (There are also tips about Missions in the event economy guide.)

Team Clash's Missions grant 20, 40, or 60 Emblems and XP.

  • Starting Missions: 6
  • Regenerating Missions: 3 every 8 hours
  • Missions Cap: 6 (you cannot have more than this)
  • Total Missions: 66
  • Total Mission Emblems + XP: 2,640
  • Single Mission Cost: 30 Gold

A very nice change this time is that the Missions requiring you to win with a specific team have been removed. There will still be Missions asking you to play with specific teams.

Passes

The Premium Pass costs 800 Gold and comes with the following prizes whenever you buy it:

  • 1,150 XP
  • 2 Tickets
  • 1 Rainbow Refraction Border

Here's everything you can find on each Pass (Premium instant rewards listed at 0 XP):

Premium Value

In terms of progress value (how close you get to acquiring your next card from the Token Shop), it seems events are becoming more consistent. This Premium Pass comes in at exactly the same value as both from February's events: 63.42% progress value.

If all you care about is optimizing for card acquisition, there are much better ways to spend your Gold. There's other value here, though!

If you like the exclusive Sandstorm Variant or want many of the cosmetics in the Shop, the Premium Pass is a great deal! It comes with 2,200 extra Emblems to shop with.

Alternatively, the Premium Pass can be a great deal for time savings. 800 Gold will get you the new card without playing a single game.

Time Investment

As previously mentioned, this Pass is much shorter than Team Clash's first run (3,000 XP vs. 7,000!).

This one will feel very comparable to more recent events. I'm really glad to see that. This Pass can be easily be completed for free, even with a poor win rate (as long as you're knocking out Missions). Last time, you couldn't complete the Pass for free even if you maintained a 65% win rate.

Using a 50% win rate as the baseline, you can see the time you can save with the Premium Pass. It'll save you about 47 games if you just want Sandstorm, or 49 games if you want to finish the Pass.

Shop

Here's everything you can spend Emblems on in the Shop!

Each Portal Pull will randomly pick one of these three Variants you don't have yet:

Shop Priorities

It's up to you to know how much you value the cosmetics on offer versus progress value (anything that helps with card acquisition). If you want to focus on progress value, here's how to prioritize the prizes. Ellipses represent big gaps in value differences.

  1. Collector's Series 4 Pack
  2. Toxie Doxie Portal Pull (unowned base card)
  3. Credits
  4. Series 3 Packs
  5. Agent Coulson (unowned base card)
  6. Magneto/Mystique Portal Pulls (unowned base card)
  7. Premium Mystery Variant
  8. Daily Offers Rare Variant
  9. Agent Coulson (owned base card) + Daily Offers Super Rare Variant
  10. Portal Pulls (owned base cards)

Toxie Doxie's value (if you don't have her) is still high even if it takes you multiple pulls. She'd be #1 if she takes you one pull, #2 if she takes you two pulls, and #7 if she takes three. Granted, she's not a very good card.

The Shop lets you spend Gold to cover any Emblems if you're short. It's not the best use of Gold, but if it's right for you, make sure to prioritize which items to buy with Gold. Each item in the shop uses a different Gold-to-Emblems conversion rate (the lower "Gold Ratio" in the Shop tables above, the better).

Expected Emblems

If you stop playing as soon as you finish the Pass, you can expect to have 5,200 Emblems from the Free Pass alone, or 6,250 if you have the Premium Pass.

Of course, you can keep playing beyond that, you just won't get anymore bursts of bonus Emblems from the Pass. If you spend every Ticket and clear every Mission, here's how many Emblems you can earn without spending any additional Gold, depending on your win rate.

Use that info to plan out your Shop purchases!

Conclusion

I'm glad to see events become increasingly consistent (although I would still expect to see Second Dinner experiment sometimes)! They've been really reasonable lately. I like how doable they are to complete for free, how early you earn the new card, and that the Premium Pass gets you the card instantly.

This is especially relieving to see as Team Clash returns, considering how intensive its first run was! The event is shorter, the Pass is much shorter, and the Premium Pass is 33% cheaper. While I do like playing most of the events, these changes are a win all around.

I'm excited to try out the new Brotherhood team and check out the other balance changes. I'll be skipping the Premium Pass again. I'll be playing lots of Team Clash anyway, definitely enough to get Sandstorm and Toxie Doxie. Besides, I'm saving my Gold for the wave of Y2K Variants coming in June!

I hope you have a great time with the mode, however you approach it. Don't forget to check out Scott's guide for strategy and decks!
