Tips & Tricks
I've compiled all my advice that is the same every time an event runs into a single shared guide. This guide is free, and includes lots of tips for optimizing your Grand Arena experience! The sections that are relevant to this event are marked with the Grand Arena logo!

Grand Arena: Grand Prizes
The Free Pass rewards the new card, Mother Askani, at 418 XP. I’m excited for this one, she seems super fun.

The Premium Pass offers this exclusive Mother Askani variant by Dardo Studios. It’s fine. Not very exciting, but it’s got more going on than the base art!

Tickets
It costs a Ticket to play a game. If you win, you get your Ticket back. Winning also grants 10 Glory and 10 XP. You'll get half as much for losing or tying.
That Ticket refund is what makes your win rate so important. A better win rate means stretching your Tickets further, ultimately resulting in more Glory and XP.
Starting Tickets: 6
Regenerating Tickets: 4 every 8 hours
Tickets Soft Cap: 9 (you cannot regenerate beyond this)
Tickets Hard Cap: 99 (you cannot have more than this)
Free Pass Tickets: 12
Premium Pass Tickets: 14
Total Free Tickets: 102
Total Premium Tickets: 116
Single Ticket Cost: 10 Gold
Ticket Bundle Cost: 7 for 50 Gold
A 50% win rate translates to two games per Ticket, on average. That’s one win and one loss, or 15 Glory and 15 XP.
Be aware of the soft cap on Tickets! If you want to avoid burning any free Ticket regeneration, you need to get down to five before each refresh. I strongly advise you never claim any Tickets from the Passes (or Shop) until you want to play but don’t have any Tickets left.
Passes
The Premium Pass costs 800 Gold and instantly rewards 460 XP, 2 Tickets, and 1 Refraction Rainbow whenever you purchase it.
Here's everything you can find on the Passes (with the instant rewards shown at 0 XP):
Premium Value
In terms of progress value (how close it gets you to acquiring another card), this Premium Pass is on par with others from recent Events. It comes in at 63.42% value. If it were just a bundle, that value would be quite poor. Event Passes are a bit more complicated.
The Premium Pass includes 460 XP and 1,500 Glory. The extra XP potentially represents huge time savings (skipping straight to Mother Askani). The extra Glory means more Cosmetics from the Shop – it’s enough for a new Emote or nearly two Variants. It could be even more valuable if you need any of the Series 3 and 4 cards on offer.
Time Investment
This table shows how many Tickets/Games you’ll need based on:
- Whether you bought the Premium Pass
- What your goal is
- What your win rate is
The Premium Pass saves ~56 games if all you care about is grabbing Mother Askani. It’ll save ~62 if you want to finish the Pass.
With 102 free Tickets available, any player should be able to get Mother Askani pretty easily. Free players will need at least a 40% win rate to finish the Pass without buying any extra Tickets.
The Shop
Here's what you can buy with your precious Glory and Gold:
Each Portal Pull will randomly give you one of the three you haven’t already pulled. This time, the Portal Pull features three new Arena Champion Variants – replacing their pixel versions from December's crossover with Cosmic Invasion.

Shop Priorities
You need to decide how much any of the cosmetics are worth to you. If you’d like to focus on progress value, here’s how you should prioritize your resources. Ellipses represent big gaps in value differences.
- Collector’s Series 4 Pack
- …
- Black Panther (unowned Series 3) in 1 pull
Thor (unowned Series 3) - …
- Series 3 Pack

- Credits

- Black Panther (unowned Series 3) in 2 pulls

- Black Panther (unowned Series 3) in 3 pulls

Shopping with Gold
When you don’t have enough Glory, you can spend Gold to cover the gap. It's not a very efficient use of Gold, but if you're going to do it, make sure to prioritize which items you spend Gold on. Each item offers a different Glory-to-Gold conversion rate. The higher Glory per 100 Gold is, the better deal you’re getting.
Every eight hours, you can buy seven Tickets for 50 Gold. This gives you the best Gold price for Glory. At a 50% win rate, 7 Tickets are worth 105 Glory (equal to 210 Glory per 100 Gold). Of course, you’ll need to actually play games to convert those Tickets into Glory, so it saves you Gold but costs you time.
The seven-Ticket bundle is especially good if you need more XP to finish the Pass, since it includes a bunch of bonus Glory.
Expected Glory
It's very doable to complete the Free Pass without Gold. At the moment you complete the Free Pass, you'll have 2,650 Glory. If you also have the Premium Pass, you'll have 3,690 instead.
Of course, you can keep playing after you finish the Pass. This table shows how much Glory you can expect to acquire if you use all your Tickets (102 Free/116 premium).
Conclusion
Events continue to stabilize. Last Grand Arena represented a huge improvement in how much XP they asked you to grind – and those changes persist. Overall, I really like where Grand Arena is settling. The new card is easy to get for free, and only 800 Gold to get instantly. Snap Packs in the Shop help new and returning players catch up.
I have two criticisms. One small, and specific to this event: the Shop’s Variants are very low-Series overall. Two are Series 1 and two are Series 3. I always appreciate seeing a Series 4 or 5 Variant in there. It’s not just that these help players catch up. It’s also that veteran players like me are far more likely to want a new Variant for a higher-Series card. I already have Variants I like for most of the lower-Series cards.
My other criticism is that soft cap for Tickets is pretty hostile to players. Depending on when you last played, it takes 16–24 hours before you start burning Tickets. I would really like to see SD raise the soft cap to 12 – enough to hold three full regenerations. It would just show some basic respect to players who have school, work, sleep, or live in different time zones (i.e., all of us).
I remain really positive on Grand Arena overall. It’s one of my favorite game modes! I’m excited to check out Ghost Rider and to play with my favorite Champ (Torch) again. I’m also very excited to make some wacky combos with Mother Askani. As usual, I’ll be skipping the Premium Pass myself. It doesn’t align with my interests, but I appreciate the value it offers to players who want lots of cosmetics or to skip the event without missing the new card.
