Future Season Teasers!

They told us all of the seasons!

In their Foundational Focus blog, Second Dinner teased the seasonal themes for the rest of 2026! It was a surprise announcement, so we got on with master seasonal detective August to talk about this bombshell! Check out our discussion and then come back here for my detailed predictions about each season!

Foundational Focus

Before we get into the new seasons, let’s talk briefly about the other contents of the Foundational Focus blog. This blog seems to be in lieu of a developmental roadmap. SD has run into issues before with overpromising features in their roadmaps or outsized community expectations to features that were only meant to be in exploration phases. 

Second Dinner has one primary focus with this blog -- tech debt. For a game that has been around long enough to devote extra resources to tech debt (and more importantly, for their various stakeholders and decision makers to approve it), is a great sign for the health of the game. This probably won’t put the ridiculous “SD is planning to sunset the game” speculation to rest, but it should. I think a lack of teased new features, game modes, and content will land flat with some, but the messaging and commitment to tech debt should not get lost in the shuffle! Future Seasons

April: X-Men End of Days

May: Daredevil: Crimson Twilight

June: Marvel Beach Bash

Variant Guesses:

Sweaty Beachwear Thirst Traps (from the Chinese client or not). More Summer Vacation variants and Featured Sets.

I think a mix of beach-y and Atlantean is likely. There aren't a ton more oceanic characters here, so they may need to trawl the depths, as it were. I think a new Jeff card to sell is a near-certainty given that character’s economic cache as a Marvel property over the last couple of years. Ken would be such a fun addition and source of cute variants!

July: Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Tons of Spiders

I think they'll stick to Spidey characters from the movie, but I hope we don't just get movie versions of existing cards. I'd love more members of the classic rogues gallery like Boomerang and Beetle. Are we going to get a Sadie Sink Jean Grey rework?! It would require some advance planning from the design team, but I think it's possible!

August: Fractured Frontier

Variant Guesses:

Cowboy versions of existing characters, like Cowboy T’Challa.

I doubt we're getting all of Rawhide Kid, Kid Colt, and Two-Gun Kid. They'll fill the rest of the season out with more Western versions of existing characters, like Web Slinger.

September: AXIS: Inversion

A special line of ‘Inverted Morality’ variants

I'm really confident in this list of cards, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Red Onslaught, White Skull, or Dark Beast. It would be cool to get some new characters like Evan Sabanur and Ahab, but it would surprise me if they go this route.

October: Zombies vs Vampires

Zombified Characters

I'm pretty confident we'll get Zombie Spider-Man, but we'll probably get another Zombified hero or two alongside him. Bloodstorm is a great idea and I hope SD capitalizes.

November: Defenders of Avalon

Scott's New Card Guesses:

• Saturnyne

• The Green Knight 
• A bunch of skills that are spells!

Variant Guesses:

Morgan Le Fay, Merlin, Black Knight

That's right, my big swing for this season is that we'll get both Brian and Betsy Braddock versions of Captain Britain at the same time. Saturnyne would be awesome (and sell some variants), while King Arthur Pendragon is highly probable. I'd love more classic Excalibur content, too.

December: Avengers: Doomsday

Variant Guesses:

MCU Variants! How cool would that be? There are some curious licensing issues with using actor likenesses, but this is presumably a smaller hurdle if planned for – look at the variants for the First Steps characters.

The Distant Future

I think there's real momentum for a Runaways season. I would personally love a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants season with Pyro, Toad, Destiny, and other X-Men villains. Longshot, Shatterstar, and Spiral must be coming eventually and Wonder Man is a sure thing at some point as well. I'll continue to make my annual March prediction and say that March '27 is finally the time we get Banshee, Siryn, and Black Tom Cassidy in the game. The Marvel Universe is deep and varied and there are decades worth of more content to be mined for Marvel Snap!
