Zombie Venom: Decks for Weekend Missions

Here are a variety of decks you can quickly grab to clear this week's Weekend Missions!

Season Pass: Vampire Killmonger

Heaps of Skills are great for building up Nicholas Scratch, Werewolf, and your Horde (via Zombie Witch). Play Venus over Cosmo for greed, but Cosmo really helps you protect your investment as Shadow King’s stocks are super high right now.

Bounce

Vampiric Spears might be a good enough reason to run Joaquin on their own, but what if we leaned in and ran a bunch of great 1-Cost On Reveals? On top of that, Spears and bounced cards all help make Shou stronger and Sasquatch cheaper.

Hit-Monkey

This is sort of a combination of the previous two decks. Black Swan is cool for making your Killmonger’s Spears and Merlin’s Incantations free. This deck does have a little tension between having your big turn on Turn 5 or Turn 6. The former helps you get a very cheap Sasquatch, but holding your cards closer to your chest probably translates to more Cubes in the long run.

Series 5: Zombie Venom

Weapon X

Zombie Venom joins Weapon X and Death as a card that wants you to destroy as many other cards as possible. He actually helps in two different ways – either scaling your Horde with every kill or regenerating the Horde so you have more cards to destroy.

If you haven’t seen the new Hellcow in Destroy before, she actually has a very cool dual purpose. On top of afflicting your opponent, she makes it easy to rack up extra kills of your own cards. This interaction with Headpool is especially cool, as you can just keep playing him in her lane over and over again.

Firehair Deathloop

This is a very tricksy deck focused on Firehair most of all. Your ideal finishing play is Death FF as the last card in the Firehair lane. This sets up for Carnage/Venom to be destroyed in another lane, causing Firehair to destroy Death FF. This starts a fun loop of repeating Death’s ability, hopefully building up lots of Power with Venom’s and Zombie Giant-Man’s abilities.

Magus is an oddball pick, but makes it possible to copy Firehair or Death’s ability if one is stuck in your deck. Note he won’t use Death’s ability when he copies it, but it’ll create the same loops if you can get Firehair to destroy him.

Coougarrr has a great video covering how to play it here.

Horde of Hordes

I used this in a combo clip and I’ve since had several people tell me how much fun they’re having with it. To be perfectly honest, you’ll need very good Snaps and retreats to climb with this – but I wanted to include it in case you value fun over win rate.

  1. Get Zombie Venom down
  2. Destroy your Horde as many times as you can
  3. Play Morgan Le Fay or Death FF to get your Hordes back
  4. Blast Horde cards like The Hunger to benefit all of your Hordes

Both Cards!

Zombie Skills

Venom is narrow and Killmonger is general-purpose, so… the combo decks are just gonna be Venom decks with Killmonger thrown in.

This one actually pulls off a surprising number of mutual synergies. Joaquin Torres, Zombie Blade, Venus, and Zombie Witch all work with the Spears while also helping to build your Horde (Joaquin via The Hunger).

There are some easy subs here if you’re missing some of the cards. Kitty Pryde, Majestic Wingbeat, Nicholas Scratch, Collector, Surge, and Grandmaster are all cards you might consider.

Zombie Destroy

This is a very cool Zombie Destroy deck with Killmonger thrown in. Zombie Captain Marvel represents a nice chunk of Power on her own, but it’s super cool that Zombie Venom makes each of her kills worth an additional 2 Power and Death FF can immediately bring back everything she took out.
