April Card Rankings | X-Men: End of Days
Apocalypse has even more Horsemen riding in. Will these new ones make the same splash as the ones we got this season? Is the Season Pass card cracked again? Are the Limited Time game mode cards any good?

Lauren and Scott got together once again to rank the season of cards. Their initial reactions can be found in this video, but their finalized rankings and further analysis can be found below the video!
Lauren's Rankings:
- Stryfe
- Mother Askani
- Storm Horseman
- Wolverine Horseman
- Polaris Horseman
- Techno-Organic Virus
- Archangel Horseman
- Askani’son
Further thoughts:
Stryfe
Of course I love his potential for shenanigans, but he also looks easy to use as a simple ol' good card. You'd play a 4/6 Shou, Zola, Odin, Doom, or Foom – and that's just scratching the surface.
Mother Askani
Mother Askani's ability is incredibly strong, so the only question is if it's strong enough to outweigh her poor stats. I think so! She'll be at her best when she's hitting something that costs 2–4.
Storm , Horseman of Famine
I don't think she's quite as free as she looks. You really need her to hit cards that can multiply her buffs. She's still great, but somewhat narrow.
Wolverine Horseman
Only needing +2 makes a massive difference. I like that his quest and his payoff are both about buffs. That means he'll fit cleanly in a deck that has lots of good buffers and targets.
Polaris Horseman
She's grown on me the most since we recorded our video. I've been convinced by her super low Cost and how splashable Affliction is. I remain doubtful she fits in a dedicated Affliction deck, but I think she'll be cool in a small Affliction package.
Techno-Organic Virus
It can be used in a handful of different ways, but I don't think any of them seem very strong.
Archangel Horseman
I've grown on him just a little, too. Maybe his low Cost and +4 buff are nothing to sneeze at? I'm still struggling to think of a deck that he improves, though.
Askani'son
I actually think he's a decent card in a vacuum, but he lacks the synergy that would make any deck his home. That relegates him to competing with generic good cards, and there's lots of competition among 2-Costs.
Scott's Rankings:
- Storm Horseman
- Stryfe
- Mother Askani
- Wolverine Horseman
- Techno-Organic Virus
- Polaris Horseman
- Askani’son
- Archangel Horseman
Further Thoughts:
Storm, Horseman of Famine
I think Storm is strong enough to have an impact even if she doesn't buff anything on board, but the best decks will find a way to buff a card or two there as well. Certainly she would have been better if the old Star-Lord was still around, but there are still plenty of decks that can happily skip Energy on a couple of consecutive turns. While I am a little lower on Storm than I was initially, I still have trouble finding a card below to rank above her.
Stryfe
Stryfe will probably be great, but I'm still not sure what the best build will be for him. Odin shenanigans or something with Fin Fang Foom will love him though.
Mother Askani
She's a straight upgrade to Moon Girl in a lot of decks and she slots right into quite a few already powerful decks. She's expensive, but I feel like the bust potential is low.
Wolverine, Horseman of War
+2 is just so easy to do in this era of Marvel Snap. I think there will be some decks that you're staring at, needing a 10th or 11th card, and he just slots right in as a free roll.
Techno-Organic Virus
Techno-Organic Virus is the kind of card that I want to try everything with. I want to try powerful consistent decks with it (like perhaps Sauron) and I want to try all-in TOV decks where I try to play it out a bunch of times. Any card that excites me across power levels like that is an instant purchase.
Polaris, Horseman of Pestilence
I do think players will find worthwhile, powerful things to do with Polaris, I'm just skeptical that those will be the obvious things. I don't think she'll be bad in a standard Affliction deck, I just doubt her ability to elevate it. This is the kind of card that someone falls in love with and finds a way to make it sing through trial and error.
Askani’son
I guess his output isn't bad, but he has to compete with so many other cards while not having many synergy hooks. If you get him for free and somehow don't have either Awesome Andy or Herbie, he could be a passable replacement for those in the type of Jocasta deck that plays them.
Archangel, Horseman of Death
I just can't figure out something I want to do with this card that feels like a winning strategy. Dormammu is the most promising idea. Some numbers need to change in this card, potentially more than one, to make it compelling.
